What's going on fellas? I'm Mike up in Brooklyn. Was 82nd Airborne 99-03, took the all expenses paid vacation to Afghanistan in the beginning of the war, spent 07 working over there again as a civilian contracted to DynCorp/Dept of State, and now I am enjoying life without being shot at and working for at&t currently.

yeah, that getting shot at shit sucks; many trips to Colombia and 2 trips to Bosnia cured that for me.
Got the job in Korea because they offered it first when I got out of the Army in 2002 where I was trying to go to Afghanistan or Iraq.
Carny, I would dig getting into NDT, maybe not level 3 but level 2 would be cool. Just to broaden my horizions as an A&P mechanic.

Beaner, I am level II in 5 methods. Trying to get DHS to pay my way for Level III testing in Eddy Current, but not having much luck because "it is not worth their money unless there is a level III position to fill." or some shit like that.

yeah uncle sugar doesn't want to cough up the funds, huh? Usually in every Army Intermediate level maintenance unit has a Level 3 NDT inspector as a contractor (Dyncorp, LSI, L3 CSC etc.) and the soldiers are Level 2's.

Deadcarny, you know what unit he was in? I was with the 1/505 PIR....not a true grunt though, I was a signal puke. I carried the TACSAT on my back so they just called me their grunt with a battery.
