I've always loved the looks of a 750, it's just plain MEAN lookin'. I happened across the '69 I've got now on craigslist. the guy was looking to trade for a bike, I offered a guitar and he bit! It was a vintage chop, straight out of the early 70's with a twisted, girder front end, coffin tank, yadayadayada. Dave and I have already begun tearing down the engine and we're planning on "Konging" the frame VERY soon, like within the next week. I'm not planning on having it ready to ride until 2011, BUT after tearing the motor partially apart it actually looks to be in decent shape, so who knows.

I started riding when I was 15 I am 61 now and through the years I have owned and built many bikes mostly Harleys .I got away from Harley Davidson back in 1989 when I bought a new low rider and it was a piece of junk( but have been the last one built on a friday afternoon?) I went and bought a new 1500 Vulcan and loved it totally trouble free even after 4 trips to Sturgis from Charleston,SC. I wanted to design and build a radical bike and let my imagination run free. My last project was a 1975 goldwing that I traded for the 76 750 that I am working on now. They are dependable bikes plus you don't see a lot of them chopped anymore.

I agree with what most have written here, reliable, lots of parts, definitely stand out these days and they can boogie pretty good to boot!
