Has anyone ever worked with a KZ1000?
If so, does anyone know what the speedometer ratio is?
My cousin picked up a KZ, but it doesn't have the speedo on it, and it wont be street legal till it does.
Neither of us know shit about bikes, we're doing the whole "Learn As You Go" bit, haha.

You can probably pick up a kz speedo on eBay for cheap...I found the whole speedo/tach assembly for my kz440 for about 20 bones. Hell, I'd have to imagine that there's some crossover between speedos in the KZ line, you might be able to use a kz400/440/650 speedo too.

Does he actually want a speedo, or does he just want the bike to be legal? That's one of those issues where they can write you a fixit ticket, but won't actually pull you over for not having one.

He pretty much just wants to avoid any hassling that may come from not having one. I cant really find anything that specifically says it is illegal or legal. Damn laws, always gotta pussyfoot around, cant just say "Yes Its ____", hahah.
