Bro, thanks for the recommendation! Did some shopping around and they're having a deal on these lids in Silver, if anyone's interested. Just ordered me one... But definitely going to have to get it painted soon! hah

Glad to help!
The silver ones look rad. You may be able to find some deals on last year's models, because I think they just got re-certified for DOT/Snell. The old ones will still protect yr dome.

Another possibility is either the Shoei or Arai DualSport helmets I've been seeing on closeout.
If you leave the visor off they kinda resemble old Bells ff's etc.
Especially if they were repainted.

It's Interesting that the Simpson Outlaw is a auto racing helmet and not a motorcycle helmet.
Might be noisier than a ff bike helmet if it's out in the airstream?

No idea, but the sound of "Invista coolmax liner," totally sold me, since I'm in South Florida and it's always hot as hell here in Miami.

I've never worn one, so I couldn't tell you how true it is, BUT... I've read some complaints by guys on two wheels with the Simpson helmet, they said the peripheral vision was kinda crap. Just throwing that out there.

We always wore full face helmets when racing just a matter of turning your head.

Simpson back in the day were known to be shit. I guess the story goes that you could grab behind the helmet and pull it off no matter how tight and well fitted they were to your head. They made them illegal on racetracks and such for that reason and a few others reasons I forget off hand.
I am sure they are different now but non the less I woulnt wear one just due to their shady past.
