Working on it right now. Thanks to our sponsors the camping will either be free for everyone, or free for the first X number of people that show up. Still working out the details with the campground owners - they're a solid crew, and I'm optimistic that we'll be able to get the majority of people who do the run - if not everyone - in for free. Stay tuned, details to come hopefully this week. Either way, we'll have run of the entire campground, so you don't need to reserve a spot.

It's that time in the game kiddos - the time to start enticing you with the insane amount of swag we'll be raffling off at the greasebag. We've got a reputation to protect - if you've been to a Greasebag before, you know how we do. Thousands of dollars worth of builder parts, paint jobs, leather seats, t-shirts and other swag. Last time around I couldn't even fit everything on the (3) 8 foot folding tables I had put aside - yeah, it's that big. Our sponsors are the best and step up big time to help support the event, their donations and the proceeds from the raffle are what cover the costs with putting the show one, it's the reason we can make it free for everyone. Much respect to them, make sure to check out their websites by clicking on the sponsor links to the left.
So I'm going to start it off with one of the big guns - Icon Motorsports. You might not immediately think of Icon when it comes to our D.I.Y garage monkey community, but these guys are the real deal. If you check out their limiter blog, you'll see that the crew there does their fair share of bare knuckle wrenching. From choppers to trackers to, yes, sport bikes - these guys are walking the walk. They're not just some random company cashing in on the moto scene - they love 2-wheel death traps just as much as we do. These guys have been super supportive - not just to us, but others like the Bastard Bash as well. I dig that, and they're doing it the right way (unlike some other big companies trying to get in on this - ahem dark customs). Now, I'm not gonna lie to you, the flaming skull joker tribal is not my cup of tea, but their products are solid, well made and thankfully come in solid colors. The Variant helmet they make is balls out, and their patrol line of waterproof gear is killer (I'll be writing reviews on that stuff later this year after a full season of riding).
I'm stoked to have these guys as part of the show this year, and they really stepped up with their donation. This shit is unreal, almost $1000 worth of gear! 2 helmets, 2 riding vests, 2 pairs of gloves (including a set of the Patrol waterproof gloves which rule), t-shirts, stickers and a whole mess of their limiter 'Zine (also very awesome). My wife still can't believe they sent all this shit (it's taking up a considerable amount of space in our dining room). The best part is that we're giving it all away, but the only way you can get your grubby hands on it is by coming to the greasebag.
So consider this the opening shot of the swag attack that is about to ensue. If you thought we went big last time out, wait till you see how much we've got coming at you this year.

I am super-stoked about riding down from Canada for this. But I just booked a room at the Ho Jo for me and my buddy, and they didn't know anything about the special rate of $135 by mentioning "Scooter rally", and the best they could give me was $170 as a military rate. I think they may have put me on to a central booking number - maybe you need to book directly through the front desk? Has anyone else been able to book at the lower rate?
If I can save $35 on the hotel, that is my beer money (or, some of it...)
(* I am assuming that I have the right hotel - the Howard Johnson Fenway at 1271 Boylston? They said they were right across from the baseball Tavern, but didn't know anything about a special rate)

Edit: Buster, just call the hotel directly instead of going through the central booking number, that should get you hooked up. Thanks

I tried that as well, after I got off the phone with the central booking office - perhaps there is a specific person at the hotel that we need to deal with - the girl I talked when I phoned them directly had no idea about any special rate (although she did confirm that it was indeed the hotel across the street from the baseball Tavern).

Jeremy at LC Fabrications steps up again with this huge back of goodies to give away at the Greasebag. Tons of builder parts carb caps, tach drive eliminators, oil caps and more. Plus a whole mess of t-shirts and stickers. For those of you who don’t know, Jeremey’s parts are super high quality, made in the USA stuff. His pedigree as a world championship bike builder passes straight through to the stuff he makes for the garage builder. Awesome stuff, and I’m super stoked to have him helping us again this year.
Buster: I'm trying to get more info on the reservations. I didn't arrange it personally, so I'm still trying to track everything down.
depending on what's going down, maybe some of the guys would want to check it out??
Either way, I can NOT fucking wait for this. My bike will be running good (At least it BETTER be!!) and I can't wait to see all the chops at the show!!

I tried this yesterday as well, direct line, the whole nine yards. The reservations lady sounded like she was 100 years old and didn't know what the F I was talking about. She put me on hold and conferred w/ the front desk who also didn't know anything about a Scooter Rally discount. They said I could get a room for $170 bucks, but I told them I'd try to get in touch w/ the event planner and get back to them.
I don't mind spending the 170 since the room will end up being split between a bunch of us, but since I'm cheap as balls, if I can save 35 bucks I'd like to. I actually emailed this whole story to Grail yesterday as well before I thought to come check here to see if anyone had news.
This week is Bike Week in NH though, so I have a feeling maybe the KB crew is out riding since I haven't heard back.

Trying to get a tenative headcount for the camping on Saturday night. I know it's hard for some folks to plan this far out, but if you're planning on coming out for the ride and camp, chime up and let me know. It will help me plan some of the details for Saturday.
Wheels in motion, all the fine details should be coming out this week.

Nate: Still waiting to hear back. I've got 2 emails into the guy, but he hasn't got back to me. I'd say hold up till at least the end of the week. If I don't hear back in a couple of days I'll give him another call.
As one more piece of info in development. The campground we'll be staying at is the Laconia White Birch campground in Belmont, just outside of Laconia. Camping will be $15 for a spot. Thanks to our sponsors you'll get to eat AND drink for FREE. Big thanks to the guys at Biltwell, Chop Shop Cycles, Kickstart Cycle Supply and Chop Cult. Make sure you tell those guys thank you and support what they do because they stepped up big time this year.
