Very nice build. I sold my CB500 a few years ago, but I want to build a CB750 someday. By the way, is that your ass?

So did you get the jetting on the carbs all done? What did you end up using for main jets? Change anything else?

Yeah I got the jetting right. Dynojet kit is the only way to go. I did the same thing on my 650. You will never get it perfect just changing main jets. But the mains are 150's

I assume the dynojet stage 3 for the 1982 katana 550?

I just realized I never posted any pics of the bike completely done. The headgasket started leaking a lot of oil a couple weeks back so I'm in the process of putting another motor in it right now.

I don't know the part numbers for the filters. I didn't do anything to the frame but the one filter touches the frame a little bit.

awesome bike man! really good work! couple questions though. Where did you get the exhaust wrap and how much did you use? and what did you use to paint the wheels with (like brand of paint) and did you sand blast them? thanks man check out my "build" if you have a chance. - Nick

I got the header wrap off of ebay. I had to buy two 30ft rolls but I have extra. The wheels are painted with engine paint from pep boys. I actually just put another motor in the bike over the weekend. Wanted to take more pics during the process but I always forget. Took the bad motor out friday night after work and swapped all the parts over to the new motor saturday.
New motor ready to go in.

Put the new motor in saturday night and started putting the bike back together. Had it running sunday. Took it out for a short ride tonight.

    Hear Hear... mad skills bro.

Can you walk us through your cleaning process on the carbs? I find the the small nooks and such to be impossible to clean with wire wheel/sandpaper/wire brush etc.

So cool man love this bike! thanks for the info on the wrap and wheel paint. i already bought some dupli color wheel paint for my wheels and plan on doing them black hub and spokes and then leting them cure and tape them off then do the rim in duplicolor's bronze wheel paint similar to the wrap color. cant wait to get it done! where are you from?

Thanks for the compliments guys. The carbs were disassembled and soaked in carb dip for a week each. Every couple days I would take them out and scrub some shit off of them and then put them back in the carb dip. The tops I just polished on my buffing wheel. I'm NW of philly.
