Default My Shaky Japanese Piece of Shit: The Story of a XS650

hahah, it's actually not mine but it's in my garage and i built it. I hate it because it hurts to ride.

These pics were taken before it was finished but you get the just:

Total build cost including bike: $$650

not bad for a one kick runner

lol, thats quite the story. Care to explain why it hurts to ride it? Seat choice? Crappy stock forks?

cool. Seriously though, why is it shaky, just because it's not running right?

ha im still debating on hard tailing my xs but reading comments like these is making me reconsider it. id love a good looking hardtail bike but if its a pain in the ass (literally) to ride, then I never will.

shakey doesn't seem right for an xs650.. I have had several and don't remember them ever vibrating real bad.. my cb750 is smooth as silk compared to my old Triumph or BSA..

My XS650 is still essentially stock, and even with alot of new rubber, and it vibrates ALOT compared to a modern bike. Not really shakey, just alot of vibration.

My buddies XS vibrates so much it makes you numb. It was like that when it was stock and its like that rigid. My Dad bought a 4 cyl XJ650 in '82, said he got the 4 cyl because the 2 cyl vibrated too much...

After riding my friends, I wouldn't want one...

i just did 230 miles on my rigid xs yesterday, it was a lot nicer ride than my 68 ironhead that i used to have. if the vibration is that bad try doing a 277 rephase i hear that really cuts down on the vibs. plus any bike that doesnt have a rubber mounted engine is going to vibrate more.
