Twin Cam Digger - Hugh's HandBuilt

Putting this together for a customer of mine, thought you guys might dig it

    116" S&S Twin Cam
    6 Speed Ultima
    Really Wide Open Primary
Chica Frame (Was in terrible shape and needed tons of repairs)
    Donnie Smith Girder
    180 Rear Tire

Tank is still only for mockup, but it is coming along. Hoping to talk him into letting me make a really cool seat for it, and some other cool tricks. The frame was completely trashed by a PO that only knew how to use 3 tools - Claw Hammer, Grinder, and Crescent Wrench. I basically rebuilt it from the ground out... Engine had blown head gaskets and a busted rocker cover from improperly adjusted valves, transmission mount was hacked up, Twin Cams don't fit that well in a standard style frame and they beat the tubes in to make it fit, etc... Lots of little details to make this thing work.

UMMMMMMM is that thing going to be able to turn at all? Looks like a little lean and it is going to scrap like a bitch, specially when the controls get on there. I dig the look tho

Yeah, its low, and the gravel doesn't help much. May need to swap to a taller wheel and tire up front .. It was an Ebay purchase that had been ridden before without issue with these forks and wheels, but its definitely not a canyon carver

i'm with Doc....the front end aint quite right to me....don't get me wrong, just my 2 cents, but i think the belly need's to come up a bit & the angle of the steering tube not matching the front legs of the girder bother me...., are maybe it's just not long enough...what do i know?? just throwing it out there

Yeah, looking at it now, I think Im gonna swap around the lower tree and see if that straightens this thing back out

This thing was a rolling basket case when I got it in the shop, so who knows if it was put together properly or not

You really need to re-think that girder. I might be wrong, but it sure looks like you have no trail at all. Maybe even a little to the front of your stem center line. Will lead to very poor handling and high speed wobble. To much neck rake for that front end.

aside from the fucked geometry, that front end is terrible looking. Know why Harmon's are so gorgeous...no external springs. That huge spring and the design of those trees are killing what could be a really good look. Find a proper front end and that bike will transform into something nice. Like the hot-rod TC though

                            intersting..

but i would not define it as digger though.. it has the level top tube but it's to short, and down tubes need in a bigger angle..

but.. it's a sweet frame never the less!

                            i like it as a chop..not as a digger..

Yeah, I finally got the front end straightened out. Bottom tree was installed wrong...

Been waiting on parts, installed a new charging system, mocked up the rear brakes, made tank mounts, and been working on fender mounts. Just waiting on the owner to decide how much fender he wants to keep before I finish it out.
