Oh Man! Don't even look at it!!! Get those thoughts out of your head about chopping that piece of art. Sell it to someone who will cherish it. Man, I hope you're not serious about ruining that thing. Those are hard to come by in that condition!

Before I saw the pic of the bike, I had my answer ready. "Chop everything", followed by " It's your bike so do whatever the hell you want to do with it." Then I saw the picture... Now I say you'd have to be crazy to chop that bike. I'm not generally a fan of restored bikes, nor do I know anything about British bikes. There's just something about the look of that bike that says,"Leave me as I am." If it wouldnt result in my wife throwing me out, I'd buy it from you.

It is nice to chop and cut on something clean, but I would let this one alone. You can find bikes to chop every where, but its hard to find one not to chop and this is one.

My Shovel for your Triumph? ...it would not be a
straight-across" trade, they are not of equal value, sorry.
My suggestion is to sell it, value is equal to a donor Shovel, I'm guessing $4000 to $5000.

What you need to do is make a frame for it, get another tank and use the motor and wheels for a chopper, that way you can have best of both worlds.

Don't chop that bike. It's too sweet the way it is. There are plenty of crap Trumps out there to fuck with. Some things are better left the way they are. Just my opinion though.

Fuck it it's stock.
It's a fuckin' stocker that yer' dad or grand dad would've chopped back in the day. Better not touch it now? That seems very illogical to me.
If we quit chopping bikes, this whole scene dies. I guess everyone assumes it'll look worse when your done? Fuck that noise.
Look at Jeff Deckers crocker. I'm sure the purist's cry over that machine, and it rules.
Plus, since it is so nice you can roll in top dollar for those very nice parts you need for the build.

One last time for me. According to stkick, I could own this bike, it's basically been offered to me, openly.
However, I KNOW me! I'd ride that Triumph maybe (2) seasons...it's possible after riding it it...I'd enjoy the "stock" configuration and leave it alone. More likely, knowing me...I've NEVER left anything alone...so it would see a rigid frame, the stock front end as it is, the tank AS IT IS, and I'd custom rear fender that bitch. A good example of a custom Triumph is Kevin Baas's wife's Trump...I find it period beautiful! BUT it is beautiful & COMPLETE as a stocker too!
....And that's why I will never own this motorcycle!
