    shovelhead oil lines?

    hey guys i got a nose cone shovel with a open belt primar and wenever i park the bike its puking out oil out of the breather does anybody have suggestions of whats going on and also maybe a online diagram of the oiling system???

    your oil pump check ball is prob not seating, pull the plug & spring lightly tap the ball with a brass punch & hammer.

      I agree, sounds like the check ball. That's fairly common. If you want a good diagram and pics of oil line routing, check out the shovelhead forum (shovelhead.net ?). There's good diagrams and pictures there that I printed out when I was replacing my oil lines. If you don't find it, let me know and I'll look for it again.

        Route the breather lines to oiltank and make a separate breather for oiltank. That way oil gets back to tank and not on the ground, and breathing still works as it should. Of course it's a good idea to also fix the ball valve, as suggested.

        My shovel is set up like that and works great.
