I converted my 89 FXR from belt to chain drive and pieced it together rather than buying a kit. It was fairly painless other than the woodruff key. I now have a 90 FXR and have the components to convert it over in my closet. Looks meaner, feels stronger. And no woodruff key on the 90 due to spline shaft transmission. 23 Tooth Transmission sprocket with a .250 offset from BAKER DRIVETRAIN and a 50 tooth (or a 51 for a bit more low end torque) rear Sprocket from 3Guyz.com or Drag Specialties. Also a company called FXR Division (fxrdivision.com) carries complete kits for those who want to avoid the hunt & peck or hassle of piecing together a complete rear drive chain conversion. I Run 530 chains on *ALL* my bikes .The above mentioned .250 offset for Transmission sprocket on ANY FXR up to 200mm rear tires will work *if* your gonna run that fat rubber.Spacers for the rear wheel drive side (after removing the belt pulley) can be sourced from 3Guys.com or just buy stainless 3/4" stock from J&P or a dozen other places and cut your own.Hope this helps you out.

T-Rod's FXR is pretty rad, my friend bought it from him and rides the piss out of it. I ran the local twisties on it and it corners great and it's scary fast.

I did a chain conversion on it because he likes to do wheelies.

    Someday mine will be done:

That's a 160 Dunlop E3 with a 1.125" 2002 Softail belt / pulley. Works 14" black trackers on order now and it'll never be fitted with a fairing.
