Very happy to announce Chopper Guys is alive and well working in Vallejo, Ca Ca. Friends live in Vallejo and out visiting and was able to swing by his shop, BSed for at least a half hour, he is currently working on a wide tire (240), drop seat, big motor cruiser with a 21 front tire, he showed me a wide tire (180) drop seat frame with buell front end and buell wheels front and back with a late model touring drive train. Probably another half dozen FXR's sitting around his shop, very knowledgeable about FXR's and great to talk to. So, he is alive.Comment

So I traded my big, stupid heavy 2009 Road King today and brought this home:
1986 FXR. 35K mileage. Total old man bike. It's so clean and well maintained.
The previous owner did do the Python pipes, Super E, E27 cam and a Dyna single fire ignition.
I'm not sure what all I'm going to do with it aside from a different seat and joining the group of people looking for mids that aren't obscenely priced. And ride the hell out of it.Comment

Thought I would share, I seem to of gotten the last set of Vtwin Mids. So I ended up getting all the bolts I ordered all grade 8 and oddly enough the two right side bolts are discontinued.
Right Side
Left Side
Bought an HID headlight for my 85, plugged it in direct and fried something x.X

Finished! Here's some pics from a few weeks ago after I got the Wompy Tokico caliper adapters and Leather Pros bags on. Fit and finish is on the money on the caliper adapters, stops waaay better over the stock single pot calipers. Those tokicos were $35 shipped from eBay. Bags are pricey, but the fact that they are quick detach and expand to about 15" sold me. See you at Born Free...
