found this gem near by. was hoping some of the FXR gurus could let me know how compatible my 1990 FXR stuff will be, I was lucky enough years ago to get a spare tin set, bars and lots of other stock parts with mine when I bought it. also Is there anything special about this year? lady is asking 5k and if my tank and fenders will bolt up i think it would be cool to restore it.

Been watching this thread for a while, never posted before. Here is my 89 FXLR. It was lowered with a horrific purple flame paint job when I bought it two years ago. I recently got a deal on some FXRP bags and fairing which I will be mounting soon. Rails are out for powder coating at the moment. Also switching to mid controls. Not sure if I will go with the FXRP fairing but I will paint it to match and see if I like it.

That's a killer looking FXR CraiGORE! All business. Here's one of the side showing the fairing. I am not totally satisfied with how the stripes on the fairing turned out. Might change them. I will throw up a photo with the bags and mids once they are on. Should have all my parts in hand by tomorrow.

Yeah, it's a Ness fairing. I am thinking of going to a t-sport for more coverage or a HD quarter fairing with the extension. The decals were made by a shop who does decals for sleds. I just brought my tank in and told them what I wanted and they designed and printed them. Shop is called HTR in Castlegar BC. They were cheap and made a first rate product. They can make any decals you can dream up.

Finally got my bags mounted and snapped a picture. I replaced the worn out latches with a set from FXR Division. It's definitely nice to have space to haul my crap around.

My '90 FXLR

Here's how it was sitting:
Taking the opportunity to tidy up various engine bits and pieces too which have been annoying me.
A while ago I bought a TIG welder, so also had a crack at making a bash plate. It came out exactly as I wanted it originally, but now Im thinking Ill try and do a 2nd version that's a bit slimmer and not as visually heavy/bulky.
And finally, I've managed to score an FXR fairing! First one was from an FXRT and a bit rough, cracked bottom section with no brace, but considering I've never see another for sale in Australia I was stoked to grab it for $100 bucks, with the plan to try and fix it.
Got a call from the same bloke 2 weeks later with this bad boy. Turns out its one of about 900 odd from the 1986 FXRD setup. Much better condition crack and bracket wise.
Only issue is I need to weld the bungs to my neck to mount it since my 82 frame doesn't have them.
