There's been some more questions regarding where this damn thing bolts onto so let me explain.
The electronic speedo sensor is located on the case close to the solenoid and many times hidden from view being covered by oil lines. I designed the bracket to sit on top of the sensor or in case you ditched it and have a plug, on top of the block off plate.
All that is needed is to unbolt the 1/4-20 bolt from the sensor and place the bracket on top and replace bolt with the one provided. Swing the assembly so it comes in contact with the start switch and tighten.
HD started putting in electonic speedo sensors in 1995 so if you have an earlier year XL, you'll have to fab a bracket. yourself.

Couple of things i found was my solenoid button stuck out too far pushing the "puller" in too far. i just trimmed a bit off the end of the push button. i also used the allen that was there originally i believe they were the same length.

Some brands do have a longer button. I noted this and tried to find a happy medium.

The short ones work best with the pull start like this one. Cost only like $20.

Brass pull starter is really awesome, but I can't find a post about the push button starter, who makes it, please?
