    Oil pump question

A couple questions about this oil pump. I have a motor that was supposedly freshly rebuilt but I’ve already found some corners cut. Has STD generator cases with shovel top end. Has this evo style oil pump with outside oiler pinion shaft. I just want to confirm if this pump is correct for this setup. Also this older s&s pump has an extra hole below the oil pressure switch hole, just wondering what its for and if I can run pressure gauge off of it, since im running rocker oil line from pressure switch hole.

Plugged hole circled in your picture is an optional feed location.

Whether the pump on your case is correct for the application depends on how the case is machined to interface with the pump. Most aftermarket cases accept modern pumps, but comparing the passages in pump and case is the only way to be sure.

On H-D cases, I have seen many mistakes of trying to fit newer pumps to older cases (cases '72 and earlier).
