1983 Ironhead Rear wheel bearing assembly parts order

Hello, i have all the manuals. Seems to me to be a discrepancy. The drawings show the parts going opposite from the photograph of the chain side axle.

what I have now from the disk side to the chain side with an end-play of about .005

    Axle>outer spacer>oil seal>Bearings>shims>long spacer>bearings>outer spacer>oil seal>spacer>washer>lock-washer>axle nut

Is this correct order? Does it matter which side of the wheel the shims go?

    thank you

Well, the above pic is the bearing assembly in a drum brake hub.

H, to your question, the shims can go in either side of the hub, as long as there is clearance for them behind the bearing race.
