No camping this year the whole Forest is closed because of the fires, so I rode up Thursday to watch the setup and then again Saturday to watch the madness.

Love the area, but the red river run is too crowded and expensive, just like most organized runs nowadays
That's why I usually only go on Thursday but since I hadn't been on a crazy day (Saturday or Sunday) in about a dozen years I thought I would try it. I hadn't even seen the edge of town and I remembered why. Now the Run to Raton in July is much better. The pre party is going to be in JPs shop this year.

I was down south in Mora helping fire efforts for about 2 weeks startying late May. I have heard the Raton run could be a good one. But it seems like as poularity grows on runs, the more it get user unfriendly, expensive and a PIA to even get to or even get around in
To me, the following runs I wont even go to anymore, should some even still exist:
Daytona bike week, Myrtle Beach Bike week, Sturgis, Red River, Chilcothe, Cherokee NC.
Try the Run To Raton this year I promised JP that I would bring a case of Apricot Brandy and Raspberry Apple Jack
So at least the preparty oughter be good. So far it has been pretty gooder.

Sorry I miss seeing U at RR. Took my 55' Nomad there, with a For Sale sign..Didn't stay long...
I'll be at Raton for the Pre Party Since JP wants a case of my homemade brandy I'll probably haul over and bring the 40 and the 50. I tried carrying some in a saddle bag one year and was way too stirred up. Natural brandy has some sediment that should stay on the bottom. See you there?
