Bobber fenders
Hey guys,
Im new to the forum. I recently inherited my fathers 77 FXE and have been working on "making it my own". I have been kicking around the idea of going for the bobber look with a shortened rear fender. My noob question is, for those who do not have the ability to actually shape a fender from scratch, what are you using to start with to cut down to the shape that you want (a donor fender if you will)? Also I am wondering about how to go about attaching the fender once the longer stock struts are removed. Attached is a pic of what I am working with. Thanks in advance.

have a look through this lot for ideas,....
depending on what you want from stock to fat 300's....
plus they have various ideas for fitting once you have decided your direction

on my sportster I mounted a cut down TS fender and made some struts out of aluminium, the hole unit was very stout.
I could also mount them under the fender so they were not seen

Took tin snips and shortened the rear fender to about 1/2 of it.
The frame has the first couple holes the struts bolt to, I didn't use the struts, but bolted the fender there with fancy spike nuts.
I wanted mine to look on the "rat" side of style, and went from there, 2" under springer, round swingarm, jockey shift, knobby tires, cool fun bike. Many ways to go, what do you want?
