Ideas for hiding stars cut into fender?

Just bought a chopper that was incomplete recently working on finishing it getting ready to do paint. And I'm at a standstill with the Stars the previous owner cut into the rear fender. One problem I have with the Stars as they are way off center and they are cut unevenly and look odd up close. I have thought about while welding a backing plate into the fender and filling them with Bondo. But I am looking for other ideas that might be able to cover hide the stars with? I have also thought about putting a decal over the Stars but that will show through. I got a lighter

Already have remove the pin striping and the cheap weird clear coat you put over the bare frame.
