Sportster fork oil
So I just bought a TC BROS 8” over fork kit (39mm) for my sportster. I got everything pulled apart and cleaned and ready to go. I just don’t know what weight fork oil I should use? I also bought some Progressive springs for them. I’ve read a couple of different forums and I’ve seen most online guys (lowbrow and Tc) only sell 20w. That seems pretty stiff.

20 weight is a little higher rating than the stock H-D oil, but I used it in every modern H-D fork I serviced (except the Buell forks) and I never had one complaint. You will be fine with that.

Would hydraulic oil, or maybe tranny fluid work, I'd believe compatibility with the seals could be an issue.
HD has a type "E" that I use now in my '91 Ultra.
