Default Garage got broken into last night...

And they left my bike and all the beautiful parts right where I put them.

They took my work laptop which is insured.
The gold they set their sights on?? A blowtorch, a bottle of good tequila, a bottle of shitty rum, two drills, a new pack of bits, and a cool multitool. They did not take the gin or the Jameson. I'm sure there's more but it's hard to tell what's missing in here.

Sucky day but I feel lucky. Just sharing.
Maybe they couldn't tell there was a motorcycle under there!

    Have a good day 🙂

Motion Lights are cheap and crooks don't like them..

They don't expect them on the inside, either.

I have a motion light outside- the inside is so smart!

What is really funny is I have one of those craftsman mechanic's sets, the little briefcase kind. I always open it the wrong way and spill the sockets because I'm an idiot so I've had it just sitting flat open. Welp- they apparently tried to pick it up the wrong way and spilled all the sockets and bits everywhere which must have been just hilarious when you're trying to be stealthy. Looks like that was probably what cut their shopping trip short.
Got some padlocks, getting stupid cameras. Cops came by... I expect to find the guys before they do. Haha.

Well , down here in Southern England , as a thief you'd need to get past the eyes of the village, a set of steel gates, and as the cameras watch you and the lights come on you'd get to the door of my concrete and steel workshop. If you get past the steel shuttered doors with Abus locks and the dogs/alarms haven't woken Hell, you'd get in to find the bikes chained to ground anchors.
Then , if you are really unlucky I might be in there waiting for you..

Yuk, yuk. Unlike any city which is full of opportunist junkie thieves, rural areas in the UK need to protect against highly organised gangs stealing farm equipment... Yes, none of this stuff is there to protect my rides!!

Yep! We used to have all sorts of guns , but three separate massacres committed by licensed firearm holders caused a backlash. The cops failed the public letting these assholes have guns, inevitably it was law-abiding firearms holders that suffered. We still have rifles too, as organised culls of wild boar and deer are performed regularly. The law got the amount of illegal firearms right down on the streets up until a few years ago, then the Government cut numbers of border force staff.
Guess what?? Hoods are full of criminals with guns again....

BTW-them wild boars ain't very wild most days...

Funny story like your sockets.. A guy I knew had the wheel off his big (Like BIG) snapon box and it was propped up with wood till they got him a new one.. Guys broke into the shop and stole every box but, you guessed it.. They went for his last and it crashed big time and they ran and left it. LOL. Too bad it didn't fall on one of those assholes in the process.

I have the "funlux" brand of elcheapo WIFI cams off Amazon and they work really good for the money. Good enough to ID a hit and run suspect flying past at about 300 feet away. You could hook a noisemaker to the motion light too, as long as it isn't so sensitive it gave you false alarms. (Use a plug adapter in one of the sockets.)

I dunno what it would take to add theft to your homeowner or renter policy, but if you've got a bunch of bike stuff around it might be worth asking.

Hope they get 'em, bro. Thieves suck.

I want all those things! Guns, concrete walls, chains locking the bike down, hell I'll even take a boar or two. My thinking is just that it was probably one of 20 tweakers I see every day going up and down the alley. I have a huge rack where all my parts are. Realizing after the break in that it just looks like a fun store. Even my cool multitool was just on a shelf for their taking. It's funny when you look at your own stuff that way- I love all my junk so I'm partial, but who wouldn't grab a WWII machete and some hatchets?
I'm glad you said that about the cameras, it's so hard to decide on something when Amazon is probably 60% yunk. I've been looking into renter's insurance as well.
Took a drive around the alleys and saw a bunch of people it could've been, who even knows.

That's hilarious about the SnapOn box. I have two super old SnapOn toolboxes (not gigantic but not small) that everyone want to buy. I could tell they opened everything but I really think the sockets must've cut the party short. I'd say someone spent max 5 min in there.

I hope they catch them too. Or actually I wish I could. That would be fun.

    Definitely looking into a boar.
