Panhead cases
I have a set of panhead cases. The right is a 1948 original. The other is an aftermarket.
The main bearing are loose ball bearing on the right and timken on aftermarket.
Do I just replace one of the races and they work then?
Im still learning guys so don’t rip me too bad.

I think you mean to say a loose roller bearing on the right.
You can replace the Timken races (cups) and bearings (cones) as a set. If you use a matched set, the end play will be determined by the spacers included in the set. Otherwise, you must set the end play by select fitting the inner spacer.
You can replace the right side roller bearing race, but you MUST align lap that race to true and size it. That takes a lapping tool specific to this job.

And the pinion race lined lapped as Jim said earlier ....
I'm not familiar with that re-pop case ... I have always used ( https://www.knuckleworks.com/ ) re-pop left side cases ....
