Well, sitting around making decisions and now waiting on parts. While I wait for the new tanks to show up I went ahead and tried out a set of 3 degree raked cups. I have two inch over tubes that raised the front just a bit more then I found aesthetically pleasing. I measured from the table to the bottom of the side car loops and I ended up lowering the bike just shy of an inch, which looks much better to my eye. The offset of the forks to the neck is not noticeable unless you are looking for it, although the cups themselves are pretty funky looking.

This also brought the bars back a little bit and they now feel better as well. Here is hoping it all clears the tank and dash!

Actually the upper triple tree now looks damn close to the where the dash will sit. Have to wait for the new tanks to be sure. The best part is it takes nothing to change it back if it does not work out.

These tanks uses the metal crossover line with hard fittings as the Oem tanks used ... We are going to need that line, plus a conversion fitting to allow the use of a rubber fuel line going to the carb ....

So ya just might want to throw another stick of Hickory on the fire and keep warm ...



And read a book ...

Well Sir, ya got two choices on the fuel line ...



This ^^ be the cheap way by using rubber line for the crossover .... OR



Run the hard line as Oem did ...
Will still need the Colony kit in order to rob the fitting for feeding the carb ...(It will be a rubber line from the tank to the carb)

Personally, I like the hard line cause it retains the look of old ...
(But that's me, yeah that's right I'm old too)

And a hardware kit as Oem would be a good idea to have on hand along with a nice, well made tank divider to fill the gap when the seat T-Bar is not used ..

So why would I not be able to run the original style metal fuel line from the tank to close to the carb and then run a short piece of rubber fuel line the last couple of inches?

Must use a bracket coming off the engine to hard mount the line to just so it's not dancing ...

Sure you can do that. I'm running something similar to that on my Pan.............
