Not directly on topic but the Aircraft Spruce catalog is insanely nice including mag and other testers, chemicals ya don't see in auto stores, tools of all sorts and a shitload more. I'm beginning to like the super-size S&S bird defector more since it's been here in the shop for months ..
At first wasn't all that fond of it, but it's growing on me now ..





Guess the reason I'm liking it is, it offers a bit of air filtration to a degree and still retains the looks of yesteryear parts ...

BTY .. Carb support bracket to top motor mount is a "W&W Cycle" item .. Made from Stainless Steel and can shine up to look like chrome ..

The two-piece backing plate sandwiches the foam filter element.

Don't offer much filtration, but might keep the Florida skeeters out .. ??

Too bad it uses foam but a fabric element would have been (probably) prohibitively expensive for show bike stuff.

BTW I'll spotface the kit ramps when I do the gearbox but please order a Baker throwout bearing (just the replacement wafer bearing set, I don't need the ramps since I spotface any set for the Baker) so I'll have that come assembly time.

Since you build gofasties you might offer the service to customers with hefty clutches or who just hate the stock dime-sized wafer bearing and want to run a five or six speed kicker.. As Baker don't make a spotfaced ramp set for that kicker there's no other way to run the larger diameter wafer bearing with that kit.

For the hobby machinists here the easy way is chuck a rod in the mill quill to center the ramp (supported on parallels in the milling vise) using its hole as the cut need not be perfectly centered just within a few thou. That's because the washers on wafer bearings are the bearing races so all spotfacing ramps does is smooth the casting.

The wafer bearing is a standard size but I can't find the info I saved or remember who posted it on another forum. Measurements should tell the tale though (stack thickness and center hole ID) and once that's known anyone can upgrade any set of Evo or same-style Twinkie ramps for the bearing the ballgarglers at HD should have used in the first place.

I could make it work, but there would be a need to keep the og heater box on line .. It's huge ..
With both items under dash they be eating up a bunch of room ..



This puppy ^^ is about the same size as the stock heater box and has heat, A/C and defrost that's electronically controlled from the four knobs in the cluster hanging under dash ...



Modern technology at it's best ^^ ...

And that brings us to ....
