Decided this year that I wanted to go another way with the chop chop. Also wanted to get it painted for real this time.





So I'm going with a smaller tank...hope I don't regret that. Dropping the king/queen seat. Internal throttle (Bikers Choice). High Mids. Shaving down the primary backing cover so it looks nice and dangerous. And a handful of other small things.

Can't wait to get it back on the road for a new season.

I dig the stance on there.

The way I have the gas tank on mine I get about 2 gallons out of it ( maybe ). I also have a quart bottle as a backup on the saddle bag. It is a compromise, but looks damn good.

Got a new 1.6 rim and a 2.75 tire coming. Hope it's narrow enough to fit the Lowbrow fork shrouds on. It will look awesome. Can't wait to get this bad boy on the road again. (also can't wait for this snow to stop)

Dumb seat question...

how do you plan on laminating the stack of yoga mats ? I wonder how the ribbed side will affect adhesion.
I ask because i have a seat pan and a mat about to be assembled.

Just going to spray glue them together. They are smooth on both sides. It's a nice closed cell foam material. Might be a little hard though, so I'm going to test it. Decided to go with a full sissy bar and a king/queen after all.

Found out that I could get a 1.6" rim. This should give me a bit more space between the fork legs.

Note: Lowbrow fork shrouds don't work with Mullin Super Narrow trees. I'll make it work.

Picked up a pipe kit. Got these all cut and tacked up in about two hours.

Internal throttle questions. I assume its a pull throttle for modern carbs? How well does it work? Return spring system? How far into the handle bar does it go in, and instead of a set screw could it be plug welded in the handlebar and still be able to service it? Is it the kind that works with rubber grips? Thanks! Really nice looking bike. Like the pipes!

* It's the Biker's Choice internal throttle.
* I'm using it on an S&S Super E.
* I had the same one on my XS 650 years ago and it worked perfect. Just uses the spring on the carb like a regular throttle.
* It goes like an inch and a half, maybe two inches.
* Not sure about plug welding it in. Might make it a bit hard to get the cable into it. I'll let you know when I cable it up.
* I use it with whatever cheap rubber grips I have laying around.

thanks for the throttle reply. Thinking of adapting one on a set of 47 chief bars so I could run a CV carb (pull) and the bars would still look stock. This is the reason for all the throttle questions. You gonna upholster the seat yourself? Thanks again.

I probably wouldn't save any money doing it three times. LOL There is a guy in Reno that will do it for $100. Tuck and Roll all the way up. Now I just have to redo the seat pan one more time.

Haha, true. I tried wrapping my own about 3 weeks ago. Let's just say it did not turn out well. Looking for some one I trust now, but I'm sure I blind man could do better than I did!
