Laurel Hubbard wins University of Otago sportswoman of the year award

Transgender weightlifter Laurel Hubbard has been named University of Otago sportswoman of the year at the Blues awards earlier this week.

Hubbard is believed to be the first transgender winner of the award in the event's 113-year history.

    ...

The 43-year-old was eliminated from the event when she failed to make a successful lift in the snatch.

    Her snatch wasn't good enough.

Hope it's not a family business, right? lol.

I don't watch a lot of TV, but me and the Mrs. stumbled on this Netflix series called "Blown Away" It is a glass blowing competition. (Think Bastard Chef, but with glass blowers.) Which is really more interesting than it sounds like it should be.

Anyway.. We turn it on for the first time and the organizers tells everyone their glory holes are ready, and it is time to start..

I'm like: "What? Wait.. Did they just say what I think they said? What the fuck did we turn on here?"

Peabody, Ma. if I recall! We used to have a Boot shop in London called R Soles. My rock chick friend Liz used to shop there and used to laugh at the shop bags we used to cart out the boxed pairs in. The drive home in her shark-nosed Camaro was a blast too.
