These crown heads has been dual pugged ..

Will be using them... Do have another set that are 66-74 year models and are in better shape ..
But I'll go though these with some new parts and bring them back to life ..

Took em apart, not in bad shape at all, has Rowe's guides that are still within specks ..

Getting a jump on some of the needed headwork ..

I normally take three cuts to bore heads, 3.800" diameter, 3.850" to get to final size of 3.879" ..

Was chatting with Ronnie Trock the other day and asked about the 3-13/16 Big Bore Jugs ..
He said that he has a few sets in stock ...

Might want to Pow-Wow with the chap .. (847-683-4010) ..

Keep the 4.5" stroke and throw on a set of these monster bore jugs, would get you to 102.72 cubies ...

Woof, 3-13/16!!! This, coupled with 4.75" would be something... Rod angles might be getting out of hand tho. Thanks for the heads up, may give him a call.

Building a motor of that displacement would certainly have tall jugs in the soup ..

Now dat .. ^^ does look like a world of fun ... !!

(Dang, more crack there than in all of North Las Vegas)

                  This chore is done ..

I'm happy to see the jugs having the oil drain holes already lowered in the bores ..
There is no need to make a sleeve to block the holes in the bores cause the jugs was never drilled in the stock location ..

Well .... Looks like I'm back from that barrel of shit I keep falling in with this motor job ...

Went to set up the wall fit on the pistons ... Grabbed them up and watch em both fall though the bore ...
Most of the time when new jugs are ordered there will be a few thousands to hone out to final desired fit ...

These pistons have a running wall fit of .0035" to .004" close .. .005" to .006" loose fit ...

Wanted to know where the bore was at and hoping it wasn't past max fit ...

                    Sooooooo ...

                    Fu#k me a running !!
Can you believe that the jugs came with the bore right on the money for the S&S 1800 Series pistons ...??

                            That's funny ...

If I had a "Gold Horseshoe" it surely wouldn't be up my ass, it would be down at the Pawn Shop ...
(Now if you'll excuse me, I got to go charge up my MoJo)
                            ________________________________________

To clarify the cylinders being on size straight from box, here's a story ...

Ya'll recall the Dual Riley Carb 96" Panhead motor that took years to build .. ??
Those jugs came from "Speed & Science" to fit a 3-5/8" bore ..
Used new STD size S&S pistons, had to set up those jugs in the boring bar to take out bout 0.030" of meat to get to 3.625" for the S&S pistons, then the last .004" of that .030" was with honing the Jugs to final size ...

That, my friends, was a bunch of work !!
All that work wasn't needed on this motor ...
Was a Plug & Play deal which rarely ever happens ....

Those Taiwan Boys must of had their "ESP" hats on to put the bore right on what was needed for the wall fit using the 1800 Series (Manley) S&S pistons ...

Perhaps, they had the horseshoe stuck where the Sun don't shine ...

Found just one thread that needs attention ...

                              It will see a Time-sert installed ...

On order are the cylinder, case studs and a few other small parts ...

In the meantime doing a bit of a mod on the stock breather gear to improve the oil scavenging from the air/oil separation chamber ..

What this mod does is adds a bit more open duration time in order to vacuum out more oil ..
Less oil in the chamber = Less oil in the mist ...
