    51 Pan gearbox Drain plug

    Hi all
It's the little things.... i'm sure the highlighted hole is the drain plug hole for my 51 Pan's gearbox.

Oddly, the shiny new Colony plug is the wrong size... Did the 51 have a different size for some reason?

That hole is for the screw that adjusts the transmission position. The drain hole is underneath.

In fairness to Hoghead, the four speeds in Softails do have the drain plug at that location.

Don't laugh, tin primaries , four speeds etc are all new to me. Even my shovel runs a five speed and an evo primary.

No need to do that it's a small part and they aren't that hard to come by..........

The reason I said that was to let you know there was a missing part as if you had it that might have told you that something else went there.............. Just trying to help......

I know I have said this 1000 times but, Do you happen to have a manual???????? If not it would be of help to get one.....

I have Harley's Service Manual for 1948-1957, Rigids. Oddly, it doesn't seem to include an illustration , but does tell you how to adjust the primary. I'll probably find the parts in W&W's catalogue.
