    I have a S&S Flathead power 93" Knucklehead. I have just got a Joe hunt magneto to put in the motor. When I pulled out the electric ignition distributor that is in the motor. I noticed the gears on the magneto and electric ignition are different and the gears rotation grind are different. I tried the gear off of the electric ignition on my magneto it rotates the magneto the wrong way I believe. It rotates counter clock wise with that gear on. Do I need to get a different magneto from Joe hunt or Change the gear in the motor out to make the magneto work

    You need to change the gear in the motor. S&S uses a set of gears to drive their timers backwards so that electronic ignitions designed for cone motors will function correctly in their timer housings.

    C.B. gear ....

    I have a few used Oem gears on hand, if you would like to do a trade, get with me and I'll make it so ...



    In the above video shows a new lighting C.B. gear...
    Those are aftermarket ....

    New lighting gear came in today for a stroker Pan ..



    J4 Leineweber cam will be going in it ..

    With a cam grind .500" and higher lift the CB gear needs to have room for the outer cam lobe swing ..



    S&S gears comes plug & play with this mod already done ...
