If the serial# says it's an FXS, that's what it is.

In any event, the front end, tanks (as near as I can tell from the pics), and dash are wrong for either model.

By the way H9 is a FXS,

If that's what you want to build it back to my 79 FXS is a totally restored with 16,000 original miles and factory paint..... It even has the factory type black wrinkle paint on the motor and trans.......

You have a long way to go to make it back stock......

Best of luck with your build....

H9 means 1979 in the serial# code. All models have that suffix in the '79 model year.

incredible man. I lot to live up to. Well, I bought it because I've always wanted to learn how to work on motorcycles. I wanted to have something to bring my dad in on and spend more time with him. Maybe because money is tight I'd better stick to just getting it running and chopping to my preferences with the resources available -

Ok you have a 1200 FXS...... Which is a F code. Mine is a G which is a 80 ci.... Hell I forgot about the 1200 bikes....

So I would say your bike is an early 1979...... I bet it has a ratchet top trans.... And that's a good thing....

    Hope this helps....
