    Default Shovelhead ignition differences

The Ultima 53-660 kit looks neatly packaged especially as it appears complete. My friend swears by his DynaTek but they look pretty fkn similar. The ultima is $200 online usually.

Is there a difference and or advantages to either?
I'm not old enough to want to run points.

    Thanks!

Dyna makes the ignitions for Ultima. Some say they are substandard, but I doubt that.

The Ultima module is a Dynatek product, but the Ultima coil is not (as far as I know). There have been some out-of-the-box failures of the Ultima modules, but in general they are OK. The coils are prone to failure.

    I'm a Dynatek fan, myself.

Thanks. I'll look up the coil for the dynatek iggy. I see there is a rather substantial difference between 3 and 5 ohm coils.
