How do you know if a shovelhead compensator is bad?
Do they go bad? -
It really doesn't very much.. But it does make a little noise.
Do you replace them with a flat sprocket? Or another compensator?Comment

There are several wear points and fixes for all of them. A solid sprocket (and a 7/8-14 nut) is a decent replacement.
