    Shovelhead Exhaust Questions.

Does anyone know why Shovel exhaust is grouped into 1966-1969, and 1970 up?

What's the difference? Because I think I have a 66-69 set of paughco drag pipes on my bike now.. And they seem to fit?

Am I good to use any set of pipes or not, or.. What's the difference?

Even paughco groups them like this and, according to them, they shouldn't fit my bike?

The bike is an 80 FXEF and I installed a round swingarm on it. (Which was also used in 1970, correct?)

One difference that is obvious, is that the pipes need to be much lower when doing this swap because the shocks are in the way. But they would have been in the way in 1970, too. With the same swingarm. Right?

So, what is the difference exactly?

Cone motor front pipe passes through the space where the generator drive is on a '66 - '69 motor.

As near as I can tell, these are a set of paughco "outside the frame" pipes for a 66-69 shovel.

      Part# 723-40 So, they shouldn't fit, right?
