Have to replace rigid battery every 2-3 months?

I’ve got a rigid frame bike and every 2-3 months my battery seems to completely take a s@!t and am just looking for clues on what might be causing this? Most of the time it will be while I’m riding, I’ll be nailing it and suddenly the bike starts breaking up at high rpm and once I shut the bike off it will be completely dead. Bench test it and the battery comes up bad. Put a new battery in and the bike runs and starts flawlessly for another couple months then same thing. Just wondering if the battery hopping around in the battery box could be busting up the internals or if I should be looking at my charging system? The battery is in there pretty snug but there is a little wiggle room. The regulator is fairly new, the stator always charges the battery just fine. Any clues would be appreciated thanks!

What bike? Regular lead acid battery?
Have you tested your charging system? Test it.
If buildin' old school choppers was easy, anyone could do it... ain't nobody said it's gonna be easy...

Sounds like the battery is getting cooked ... ??
      Might try a low-voltage regulator ...
Take my 45 and outrun em all ..

I’m guessing you’re running an alternator, so how many amps? The high amp alternators can kill a small battery.

If the battery is dying while you are riding then your charging system isn't working properly.
It really shouldn't need the battery to run.
It could be batteries being destroyed by vibration but I've known of plenty of batteries on rigids that didn't have this problem.
I would test the voltage at the battery before you start it and again after starting while giving it some revs.
It should be higher after starting.

Perform a charging system test with a meter per your factory service manual.

Why is the battery "hopping around"?? Secure it. Some padding doesn't hurt (the classic "leather soaked in baking soda" works well and protects against corrosion) but the battery should not be loose.

A handcuff sized cable tie can be used in many ways to secure a battery.

Seriously tho', I have a small battery mounted in the middle of my rigid shovels oil tank.
It's surrounded by high density foam, which protects it from shaking and heat. I've punched louvres in the cover I made for the underseat area to let heat escape.

I suggest you check your charging system.

It's not your battery. My best guess is you regulator is shot or your going to ground somewhere. I've had an ignition switch do that.

Regulator shot test output, check connections and make sure it's secure.
