Hey gents. I picked up a 1996 FXD the other day in a trade and wanted to throw a set of mags on there. My buddy gave me his 13 spoke mags from his 2003 sporty. As far as I can tell, the rear hub width is the same on both the 1996 wheel and the 2003 mag. The front on the other had appears to be about .335" wider on the front mag compared to the older spoke wheel. Even though the difference is minimal, I believe that with the narrow glide front end, I won't be able to run the disc without the rotor bolts hitting the fork tube. Super confusing, because I thought the width of the narrow glide front end and the later model sportsters were the same.
Anyone have experience swapping 13 spoke mags on an Evo Dyna? I'm kind of hoping I'm just missing something simple before I take the mag to a machinist to have him shave .1675" off each end of the hub.
