    Shovelhead oil pump leak

Recently rebuilt my oil pump with new gaskets and seals but still getting a leak from the lower right bolt. Not sure what I can do to stop it.

Heres a picture of the leak:

Also, looking back on pictures of my cam chest when I was replacing the cam, I noticed a small hole (red arrow). Is this suppose to be there?

Anyways, any help would be appreciated.

Yes, that threaded hole is usually drilled through.

A little sealer on the screw threads should take care of the seaping.

Any recommendation on sealer of choice? Also, Im guessing everything would have to come apart again to clean oil out for sealer to work?

        Sloppy work ...

No need for that hole to break into the air/oil separation chamber ...

You could JB Weld that up from the inside of the chamber ...
Take my 45 and outrun em all ..

I'd remove the screw, clean the hole and screw with brake cleaner, and use some gasket sealer on the threads. NOT silicone sealer!
