    Slab Together Shovel Chop

So... figured I'd start a thread on this. There isn't a whole lot to say yet. Or pics to add yet. But... here goes.

Managed to actually win one of those give-aways on Instagram. Got this chassis setup:

Picked up an old E&S Saddle king/queen seat off eBay. Swapped over the 18 rear from my shovel custom build just for looks for a sec...

Going to need a taller sissy bar. Prolly gonna go quite a bit taller.

Also picked up this riser/camp/dogbone setup off eBay.

The big idea on this bike is going to try to keep it simple. Find used parts that work. Try to keep it cool... but minimal fabrication... and minimal new finish (no new paint or chrome or polish). Just get a bike running.

The shovel I'm still slowly chipping away at is remaining in the works. But there's so much to fabricate and my time is very limited these days. And yet - I have no bike to ride.

So this is an attempt to capitalize on good vibes scoring a chassis... turning it into something rusty ratty and rad.

Generally - it's going to have a 10 over 35mm narrow glide. 21/19. rear drum. prolly a pan, pan/shovel, or shovel. who knows. low drag bars. foot clutch hand shift. open belt kick only. blah blah blah... plus whatever else I can find.

Trying to get most of the parts on trade, swap, or in return for me doing some engraving projects. We'll see.

    More to come eventually. Cheers!

Thanks man. Yes - was super cool. The dude was giving away a first prize of an old pan/shovel chop - was super awesome. 2nd prize was this chassis. 3rd was a custom painted survivor gas tank.

It's kinda funny because this frame obviously has no papers. Was able to get a little bit of history on it, which was cool. Was a club member's bike at one point. Most recently had a knuck setup. But it's funny because without papers, I'll have to find an older drivetrain prolly with title = $$$. I prolly wouldn't have built a bike this way due to cost. Course... paperwork is a whole other topic since I have to do some research on my new home state of NC. Just moved here, not sure what I'm about to get into with the DMV. Would prefer to run a basic cone shovel. Buy a cheap donor, plug it in, roll it. But the paper trail is prolly a deal breaker there. Not sure. More to come.

Not much time to tinker these days, but stayed up later than I should have the other night. Just needed to see the stance with forks on it. Everything is kinda loose fit for the moment but it'll sit. I cannibalized the 18 drum rear off my other build... and put the 19 on the front. these will get swapped around to be a 19 drum rear and 21 front later on. I dig it. I'm a fan of the kicked back deal. I dig the 10 over. Love the risers. Not sure what bars I'm going to run. Gonna try to track down a crazy tall sissy bar that somehow works with this squared off king/queen. We'll see. Plenty of weeks/months to figure all that out. Cheers!
