    Stop buying store bought kits!

Get a pair of seasoned cylinder bored to 95 inches (you can up to 98 but it make the liners thin) properly to fit a pair of new pistons with proper ring gap. Preferably high tops

Get a pair of heads ported and set to compression of 9.8:1 with proper squish

    Andrews 37 cams

    A good 2-1 exhaust

    And properly tuned

On '99 models, a change of cam support plate can leave one oil passage open. That will usually cause the oil lamp to go on when the oil is hot. But in any event, a lot of the oil supply just gets dumped into the cam chest and so back to the return side of the pump. If you are burning up top ends, being lean of oil could be a primary cause.

Did you build the motor or did you have it built?

I think I remember his previous threads. If I remember correctly the problem was his cylinder would become out of round and the piston fit was not proper
