    Default Opinions please

So I've never been a fan of the shape of the current fairing on this bike but I dont see for shit anymore and i am runnin a 7" headlight which looks retarded without something to hide it. So it stays

Its nut shrinking cold today so I was playing around with the idea of altering the shape. Had some thin gauge laying around so i tried my hand at cutting out some inserts to kinda follow the lines of the tank better. Nothing attached, need to play with shape a little still, and can't decide if I'd like it painted or leave it bare? Or if I even like it at all?

    Thoughts? Good, bad, or indifferent...

Hell I'll even listen to what the BBQ has to say. I won't care, but I'll listen

Bike is heavy on the black, the forks and that insert stand out too much for me

I like it a lot. I have that same fairing on my Nighthawk bastard and that cutout has always driven me crazy on it (it's for your turn signals, but who rides with turn signals? Seriously). Sadly I was never clever enough to come up with something like you did, so I've just stared at it for years.

I think it looks better in an accent color as opposed to black, but seeing as there is no real accent color on the rest of the bike, bare metal or even polished up looks fine to run with the engine and shocks. Plus it's different enough that you may as well let it get some attention.

If you are looking for other cold weather things to do, I do agree with brooklynbomber that the forks could use some black on them. Maybe just the lower half would look cool...idk...

Those would look pretty sweet with some louvers punched into them.

All right now that I've been dragged into this here goes yes I like your add-ons paint them black and cut holes in them and then stick a couple of 50 caliber machine gun barrels out that will be fucking bad ass and will really complete your Mad Max theme bike

Scrap the whole thing and start your build around the gas cap.

Those 70's bikini fairings should have stayed in the 70's.
That being said, its way better now that you got creative. Dont stop there. An aluminum chin spoiler would put it over the top. Small dimple dies are cheap on Amazon. Gives the needed contrast along with fork legs.

And for Gods sake get a new windshield. Hell, for the price of a windshield you can get a fresh fairing and do it up right.

The stock ball cap looks normal becaue it is, but I've no idea what's under your fairing.

Just buy an aftermarket LED (not from a bike shop, study automotive bulb options) and use whatever bucket you want. Large lights aren't better lights, BRIGHTER LIGHTS are better lights. Later Sporty buckets take H4 bulbs and those have many aftermarket replacements. I couldn't be arsed to look up the part number for the one I scored at a swap meet but they're cheap and plentiful.

BTW your right rotor shows an odd wear pattern and since I see stock rubber lines I suspect the rest of the system could use inspection. When was the last time you replaced your brake fluid?

Had a dragging/locked up situation a few weeks ago with that caliper. New front brake redo in the works
