New Year's Resolutions
So here we are "another year older and deeper in debt" as the song goes.
What is everyone planning for the new year? My list is pretty short.
Retire from the rat race and find something I want to do for the rest of my life! ( July 8th is the target )
Get the house ready to sell and find our 1st retirement house. ( There will be at least two, one in Illinois for now, and once my grandson goes off to college we will move out west )
Learn to TIG weld, cause I suck at it.
Do at least one rough camping ride.
Find a tow behind camper that the missus likes and we can afford.

Ditto on the TIG welding.. I really want to be good at this.
Get my bike finished by spring.
Fill out my collection of assless chaps. (Not for riding, but formal events like weddings and birthday parties.)
Find the absolute smallest gas tank anyone has ever conceived. (Considering a modified beer can or an IV bag from the handlebars.)
Learn all the new gang signs.
Make a bazillion dollars in the stock market so I can buy a private island large enough to be clearly seen from space and have it carved into the shape of Donald Trump's head..

I hear it's come a long way. We've got solar arrays popping up in corners of rural parts round by me.
Smart phones I dislike for other reasons than that I am a luddite.

You dislike the fact that Uncle sam says:
" I've miles and miles of files
Pretty files of your forefather's fruit
And now to suit our great computer
You're magnetic ink!"
( Moody Blues: In the Beginning )
I do like solar and will make sure to implement it when I move out west.

I swore I'd never have one either/ Then I learned I could get crystal clear, digital, AM radio on it..
Try one.. They're awesome.
It replaces like, a billion different things.
I hate the phone, so I don't use mine as a phone.. But it is an alarm clock, regular clock, GPS speedometer, TomTom like navigation device, credit card processing terminal, digital radio, still camera, video camera, weather center, phone directory, text messenger, portable technical reference for work, digital storage device, calendar, planner, high accuracy stop watch and timer, calculator, flashlight, audio recorder, audio book reader, MP3 Player, magnifier, HVAC Control, remote security camera access point, vacuum cleaner remote control and deploy tool, check scanner and E-deposit tool (Seriously, you don't even have to take the check to the bank. Just scan it.), early warning system to monitor credit and debit card usage, and.. In a pinch.. It is also a portable telephone.
There may be a few things I overlooked here, but they are good for way, way more than crapposting on facebook and taking selfies.
