It's odd I had a conversation with a guy just this morning about re stamped numbers.....

Those numbers are NOT original Harley....... The pad has been sanded down and re stamped.......

But with that said 95% of the people out there would never catch it......

Since you didn't know it and the guy that bought it didn't catch it before he bought it I would call it no foul..........

The numbers look good but not 100%...........

I dont know i dont have the bike anymore.

if you're saying the pad isnt thick enough is i t possible if it were a replaced case that the pad would have a variation in thickness from OG factory?

i mean now i can tell they are a restamp hindsight is 20/20 and all that but when you say booogus whats the likelihood that they ARE a legit dealer restamp?

my point is a sold the bike not knowing a week later the buyer isnt stoked. I'm not able to buy the bike what would YOU do?

Tell the guy you sold the bike in good faith and there is no refund as he knew what he was buying..... It's not like you shipped the bike to him............

Just say I'm Sorry but the numbers looked good to me..... And they still look good to you............

I would have never sold it like that ....

It would have been fixed and made 100% legal before I sold it ....

But, I'm a shop and have the means to make it so ....

Serious Question: If the older titles go with the engine case.. What in the hell do you do if you break one and have to replace it with aftermarket?

You can't get those anymore from harley.

                          Now to answer this question........

No they are not Dealer re stamped numbers............. I've seen a lot worse numbers than that go through the DMV............ I wouldn't worry about it........ It's taken me years to be able to spot re stamped numbers..........

You can still get a builders title for that bike right now with no problem............ But it will hurt the value of the bike somewhat...........

Hell if that bike went to California that's what you would end up with anyways not a Harley title......... Most of the time...........
