Help needed choosing a springer and top fork clamp

    Hello,

Never bought a springer fork but I want one on my 1973 Shovelhead with a rigid wishbone frame and a raked neck...
I don't know how much raked.. I measured a stock length fork, around 48,5cm, will look great on my shovel with a 21" wheel.

So that means to be this one: https://www.wwag.com/cgi-bin/WebObje...?page=!WW18457

Saw also difference between inline and offset. Think I go for a inline, is that the best for a stock length?
Posted a picture at the attachment.
Is there something I need to know when I buy a springer?

How about the top fork clamp, there are multiple of them. https://www.wwag.com/cgi-bin/WebObje...page=%21161252
Original style, is it just mount it to the fork and use the riser adapters for the adapters?

Like to learn about it and buy one

Inline and offset?????? There really isn't any difference to speak of........ What matters is which one you like the best............

The rake in your frame is all that matters at this point..............

            Thanks for the replies
So far I can't track down what kind of frame it is. From what I think with the information I have, it's a Santee http://www.wpsracing.com/saclstfrwiri.html It has a number S007185 stamped on the front of the head tube, but can't find any information about Santee frame numbers.
But I measured it today, from what I measured my frame rake is 40 degrees...

              I can help ...

Here's what you need to do ...
Set up the bike frame to the height you would like it to be ...
Then with a angle finder stuck to a fork leg see what you have ...

Post your findings and I'll run a program on it ...
Take my 45 and outrun em all ..

With an offset springer you can turn the springer more before it hits the frame as the back legs are farther from the neckpost. Saw some inline springers that had not much movement turning side to side.
On this Butt's springer top tree, you can see how much the rear leg (outer) holes are ahead of the middle neckpost hole:

I got the frame on the correct height. I measured it with my iPhone app (hehe), calibrate it horizontal and stuck to a fork leg it has 40 degrees.
Also I have measured it by making a triangle with a small rope and calculate it, also 40 degrees. See screenshot.

How accurately must it be measured?

So I believe the fork in the link in start post is the correct one?
The stance is good. Measured all, height from ground to axle etc. All looks good to me.

                      This fork clamp: https://www.wwag.com/cgi-bin/WebObje...page=%21161252
Is that the correct one to fit with these adapters: https://www.wwag.com/cgi-bin/WebObje...?page=%2140451
So I can fit risers on it.

It depends on the risers your wanting to use...........

It looks like they are the right adapters(stepped studs), which fit in the rear leg and allow the risers you have to fit the top tree. Do you know the internal thread of your risers? What are the diameter of the bottom of your risers? Wondering if they are larger diameter than the back leg of the springer - and just sit inside the hole of the top tree on top of the back leg of the springer, instead of sitting on the top of the top tree.

Don’t know the thread of the risers, but I think that won’t be a problem. Will look for it. Diameter from the risers I have at the moment is 22,5mm.
