I haven't picked up a copy in a very long time. But I used to read my dad's in the 80s - and his stash going back to the early 70s. I had a special place for it in my heart - as well as magazines like High Times, Outlaw Biker, In the Wind. It is this love that made me start my own magazine. I was tired of bike magazines being either all photos with no stories, or all tech specs with nothing relatable to someone who just wants to read about runs and parties, and other crap happening in the world. Their relaunched web stuff makes me think it will be no different than Iron and Air or Dice. But I don't know, a bit too early to cast any shade on them... I mean the product was pretty bad for a longtime in my personal opinion.

Well, lets get your info out there.... I see on your profile you are just up the road from me,, Oly, (Seen any Artesians? I have!) Ill check out your site more tonight, but your cover blurbs have me interested. Been in the Hoh rainforest a few times and camped up in the area. Also there was some swap meets and shows up in Sequim at the indian casino for a couple years.

I am active with many of the vintage clubs in the region, so we probably know the same suspects.

    Site: https://www.thetonmag.com/

But yep,, you are spot on with your observations. In the military spent a lot of time dreaming of a build and reading all the trashy magazines, catalogs and tech back in the 1980s,, still have a bunch of old mags and material. (I used to reprint vintage tech and Jammer and AEE stuff and sell at swap meets and early days of FeeBay) Many people didnt have the resources so it was valuable,, sold some to Japan and those cats freaked out over it. Had some asian buyers do some bidding wars on eBay.

The Horse, Cycle World and others are in the same boat,, But guys like Paul who runs "The Vintagent" seem to do okay, So hope you can make it work.

welcome to the Cult by the way. (New account) Chopper Cult is NOT the Borg like FarceBook.

If I ever meet an artesian I'd like to shake his hand... If he's got hands.

So did anyone snag up issue #1 of the “New, Improved” Easyriders?

Go for it. I'm not paying for photos in 2020 and the rest of the content was space filler even in the old days.

I asked and it turns out they can't do DVD boxed sets of the old, good issues because of various copyright hassles so the good content is doomed. Buyer obviously didn't do due diligence. I suggested they cash out and sell to an overseas collector (without mentioning that may get some of the content scanned and published later under overseas copyright law or simply by ignoring it) but the response was idealistic silliness. The buyer apparently means well.

I stopped buying Sleezy Rider in the late 70's, it went down hill in the 80's I reckon,... even back in the 70's it had gone all ''Corporate'' anyway, just printed to get your money in the banks accounts of fucks who wouldn't know a spark plug if ya threw one at them.... if it goes down the pan it will be no great loss, I preferred Outlaw Biker until that changed, same with Iron Horse,.....

It's going to be news stand only. They burned me, I got like one issue before it folded so they offered me some swag. I was able to buy a stupid beer coozy and the shipping for it with my credit.

I loved Easy Rider back when David Mann was doing the centerfolds. We all wanted to have sleds that looked like his drawings. I didn't realize it at first, but Brown Sugar ended up being a definite nod to him!
