i would like to thank all who have responded and those that may i will never claim to know everything and i know if i have ?? or need suggestions this is 1 of the best places to go ... again thanx for everything i read all and take in the info ... on this last time it started me thinking bout the idea of lean an so i checked plugs an they were a decent brown not white an not black kinda coffe cream typeComment

ok i cheked plugs looked ok double checked gap per manual an took it out for 5 or so miles out an bak it is tinging on top end but it “seems” to b when u let off gas ... got bak pulled plugs an they r blak wich i believe is to rich so any thoughts from the bike gods in the sky ? ... lolComment

The only way to read plugs when you are trying to jet is to do a run at the rpm in question, under load, do a throttle chop, and pull the plugs.
If you hear any pinging, back that timing off first, or get some better fuel. Pinging is a clue that you may have some detonation at higher rpm, but they are not the same thing. Detonation will ruin pistons and you will never hear it.
