Total Motor/Trans Rebuild on a Bone Stock 1974 XLCH

Well how bout that ...

I just came up with a set of Trock's Shovster jugs and a trap door ...

Not that I needed em, but was thinking of a future project or just might flip em .. ??

Super beefed the transmission trap door ...
Solid steel inserts replaced the aluminum threads that the case used ...



Also did the six bolt trick using ARP flanged bolts and two sunken ...

REALLY don't want this to happen to these cases .. !!

Well now ... What to build .. ??
A 86 inch Snortster or a 93 inch .. ??

And ...



I kinda like the looks of the Shovel up top, keeps the looks of the Ironhead sorta alive , but supersized ..
However, the Aluminum Knucks would be a "Killer" look too ..



The 5" wheels uses the stock size sprocket shaft, which is the same as the shaft that are in the Oem wheels ... The T&O was ordered for the S&S Big Foot shaft ... If we was going to use the 5" stroke flywheels, we can pull the shaft from the stock wheels and reuse it .... Or ... Machine the left flywheel for "Big Foot"

The choice has been made on the stroke, 4-5/8" wheels will be in play..
5" wheels would require the motor to be super tall, which would entail major frame mods to allow fitment ...
Making this build ahellofa mega work .... A wise choice was made by weighing in the pro's and con's ....

I have one of these Rivera Turbos sitting in a box ...

On second thought, perhaps I better keep my Pie-Hole shut ...

Got a game plan laid out in order to build up the case deck for the new supersized bore ...

Then machined ...

On the left case a plate will be welded on in order to add beef and get the deck fatten up ..



A world of welding and machining will be going down ...
