For the 4 speed I had an old blown up case I thought I would try to repair and rebuild. Spent way too much time patching holes and building up ears. After triple checking every step of the way it's almost a trans, just missing the top cover bolts. She's not pretty but I was using this case to learn on. I have another case I'm going to send out to polish to match the motor then build after I put some miles on this one to make sure I did it right.

Swapped out the hideous 80 spoke and crusty rear wheel for the wheels off of my sporty. Played around with sissy bar ideas, made the front mount for the coffin tank, and mounted up my Cooper fender. Getting excited at this point.

Still plugging along, starting in on building the exhaust.

I really like Regatta Garage's exhaust fab tools, I was having a hard time wrapping my head around things.

looking good, any particular reason you ditched the 5 speed for the 4?

I really wanted a kick start. Looking at adding a kickstart kick to the 5 speed looked to be an expensive proposition to do right. The cheap kicker kits didn't inspire much confidence. I had 4 speeds laying around in parts and decided to throw one together. In the end I get the same final drive and snagged a nice belt drive on the cheap that ties it together. I was using an internal belt set up for a Softail but now I can ditch all the stock primary stuff.

Just about finished with the exhaust. Not super happy with where I put the break but I can always make another. Finish smoothing these guys out and it's off to chrome.
