    My shovelhead build/s

I was missing my old shovelhead life so I traded my dyna for a 1979. Here is how I got it, not too bad in a Santee frame, already had a wideglide and dual disc which is what I was really wanting

Had to re-break, angle, shorten, and tweak a v-twin mfg jockey shifter for a rotary to clear my coil

Wanted to leave the chrome oil tank but it sat in the frame like garbage...and had a huge dent I believe from the chain breaking prior

My lady is a painter so we got to mess around a bit with a technique I've had on my mind for a while, and come up with our own mix of candys for this color

In the middle of it all I ended up with another shovelhead 1976...So now it begins again, have just loosely swapped the tank, put on some silverback moto bars, and ditched the 10" over narrow glide no brake, for a 12" over wideglide with a drum. Planning on getting some quick things done to this for a canada trip in about 6 weeks

Damn that actually looks like a decent oil tank that fits a cowpie.

It is a Throttle addiction oil tank that I tucked up tight with some tabs under the seat. Fits good however that rotary has gotta go. Ended up getting a ratchet locally to throw in.

You will need to put a stop on your pedal if your going to run a wafer throw out bearing.

Even with full time slack in the chain? The weight actually pulls my pedal back so there is no pressure on the clutch release other than the little bit of chain weight. The ratchet top I'm getting ready to throw in actually has the "heavy duty" type so not too worried about that.

Just curious, why would that matter with wafer type vs the heavy duty?

                      Thanks

Forward stop not at rest stop. Believe me it makes a difference.

One can take pressure pushing on it and the other one can't........... Think about how hard your foot is pushing on the peddle when your stopping...........

But do what ever you think is best after all it's your bike...........
