My '50 was all stainless furnishings, I believe because chrome plating was limited after the war. I would assume that went back through '48 for the same reason. HD also did some black painted parts for the base models.

          A 48 and a 50 is a totally different animal.....

I'll bet if your 50 came with them it was an early 50 model....... What all on the bike was stainless??

I'm assuming you didn't buy it new??

There were several different seats available for that bike depending on what it is....

That bird accessory air cleaner cover is kool, too. But I think the one on that '48 is for a flathead. The bird is facing the wrong way. Paughco still sells those I think.

That bike is BEAUTIFUL I wouldn't change a damn thing. Other than the breather cover....

I guess the next thing he will do is remove the pin striping????

You do know that seat is correct for the bike.....

I said the same thing remove pinstriping bit its omd paint to and he wants to leave it guess. Orginal color was red for this bike, we checked numbers to everything correct matching head front and rear 48,bottom nr correct, all orginal motor very beautiful but it doesnt run either but hell i can watch it all day. Seat is correct just not the orginal but hey 1948 compleet orginal is hard to find.
