Trying to finish up my trike

Not sure if I’m in the right place, almost done with this trike I have been messing with but having problems with the rear end, part number is 128-40-HD. So I think it’s a 1940 Harley rear end and not a servi-car from Ford . But not sure. I know I’ve seen many trikes with wide tires that have the same style rear end that ride fine. it seems to be a solid axle, both wheels spin the same when they are off the ground so with the fat tires And the rake it does not turn at all, the front tire just bounces or one of the rear will hop. anyone out there know anything about these rear ends? I’d like to keep it in there instead of getting a paughco differential.

I would look inside the differential and see if was welded up at one time or something to be made into a ?posi? rear. it sounds awful hairy trying to drive it like that, hairy meaning dangerous lol

So it’s not supposed to be locked up like that I’m guessing?

Oh yeah no I totally got that, it doesn’t have a differential on there. Must just be one legged and a free axle is bound up on something I guess
