Here ya go farmall .. I know how much you like seeing tools to do a particular job...

The Boys at Zipper's has this fixture on the market ....

If you’ve ever installed a ThunderJet®, you know the biggest challenge is the setup – getting the carburetor body to just the right angles to drill the holes. These fixtures take the hassles out of setting up to install the ThunderJet® by clamping the components at the correct angles for installation in a drill press or mill. If you install ThunderJets®, this tool will quickly pay for itself in time saved.

    Zipper’s ThunderJet Installation Fixture
    #713-910 ThunderJet® Fixture for S&S E/G/B/D Carburetors - $237.00
    #713-915 ThunderJet® Fixture for CV Carburetors - $175.00

Makes for easy install of the jets ...

    Neato!
The most interesting part to me is the instructions (which I immediately saved) since milling some billet to clamp in the mill vise is easy meat and they give the 20-degree angle for a sine vise etc.

For a shop that's a great deal because the first job pays for the fixture. it's inexpensive for what it does and how quickly it does it. At ~$100/hour or more it doesn't pay a shop to make one but it sure does to buy one.

Small setback my rattle can frame did not meet the standards of the painting God who did my tank and fender and motor Jesus concurred it's going to go back together as a nice bike he goes the frame should be as nice as the rest of it so my hack rattle can paint job is going to get stripped and re-done
You would've thought with 28 cans it would've came out better but I guess I'm done as a painter ha ha

Nice Corvair. My bro went through several and we had fun wrenching the Corsa he turbocharged. Too bad the workmanship wasn't better on the rest of the car or it could have been America's Porsche.

We tried to roll an early Vair in a parking lot (he bought it for the motor) but the tires were too worn to hook up. To be fair to Ralph everything back then really WAS a deathtrap and the body counts per mile travelled prove it, but Vairs, VWs and Porsches were FUN deathtraps. They're just pretty garbage by modern standards, primitive as a T Model Ford compared to them (and the time gap between them is similar).

    "A boosted flat 6"

That reminds me of my youth..

My neighbor a block down the road from where I lived at had a shop in town and was known as the V-W Guru ..
I was in high school at the time and my last course of the day was auto class which happen to be nextdoor to the V-W King's shop ..
When school was over, I'd walk to his shop and put in a few hours working on bugs and rode home with him to be dropped off ..

What made him the V-W King was he built dune buggies out of em ... Cut like 26 inches out of the floorpan, weld them back up and drop on a fiberglass body then sell em ...

Well being the "King", he had to build himself a Kick-Ass Buggy ... He built one that looked like a T-Bucket and was powered by a dual-port V-W engine (54 HP)... One day he came dragging in a two speed automatic Corvair that was turboed (Factory installed) ...

We pulled the whole transaxle out of his T-Bucket and install the Corvair motor and trans ...
He would send me all over town to pick up parts for jobs we had going on and let me drive the T-Buggie ...

Man was it fast!! ... Glue ya to the seat until ya got up to around 50/60 mph and went to second gear ...
Boost would drop off ... I wanted to see what boast felt like in second but being in town didn't have enough road for doing so ...
Until he sent me to E-town for some boat parts...

Got on the Super-Slab (I-65) for the 40 mile trip North ...
Here was my chance to feel second gear boost ... Yayyyyy !!

Found a vacant spot in the road, without any traffic, and put the pedal to the metal I did ...
Well Sir ... Here's what happened next ...
With the body looking like a Model T it had gull wing fenders up front, all that weight of the flat 6 back behind the tires and being a shorten wheelbase, things went ballistic .. !!

At around 80 mph, boost kicked in (Holy Wheelstand, Batman), at that moment in time I was staring at nothing but blue sky ... .. Dang thing was trying to launch itself to the Moon !!

Ya know, I got out of the gas right fast, yes Sir right damn fast ... And I don't think I got it over 45 mph on the way back ... !!

    Well ...

    Maybe just a wee bit .. !

He's trying to protect you from the possibility of losing it to someone who doesn't appreciate a fine chobber by offering to be its custodian at considerable financial self-sacrifice.

It's noble of him to set aside his worldly cares in behalf of a brother. I'm almost in tears as I contemplate such steadfast loyalty and implacable sense of mission to preserve your work.

Apropos of nothing, what size boots do you wear?

That’s right farm..... I’m making my slow insidious moves to whore away more of dave’s garbage. Based on previous experience there will be extensive warranties included and a “no cracked frame” clause....bondo boy ain’t gonna dick me over a 3rd time.....or my 10.5EE will stomp a mud hole in his unscrupulous ass
